WHG Supports Truck Week 2026: Celebrating the People Who Keep Australia Moving
1 May 2026
Truck Week 2026 highlights the people, businesses and communities behind Australia’s transport industry. WHG proudly supports Truck Week, recognising the transport industry’s critical role in powering Australia’s economy and enabling the movement of freight, resources and essential goods across the country. Through events including Bulk Tanker Day, Truckin’ Together and TruckShowX, WHG is helping drive conversations around safety, wellbeing, innovation and the future of transport technology.
Why Truck Week Matters to WHG
From regional highways and logistics hubs to city streets and remote mine sites, Australia’s heavy vehicle industry keeps the country moving every day. Truck Week shines a spotlight on the people behind the wheel and behind the scenes, including drivers, technicians, operators, warehouse teams, families and communities supporting the industry.
Behind every supermarket shelf, construction project, mining operation and agricultural supply chain is a freight network operating around the clock. In 2023–24 alone, Australia’s road freight industry moved 249 billion tonne-kilometres of freight, with demand forecast to grow by 77 per cent by 2050.
Heavy vehicles play a critical role across every major sector:
-
Delivering food and essential services
-
Supporting construction and infrastructure projects
-
Powering mining and resources operations
-
Moving agricultural products across the country
For an industry that often operates behind the scenes, Truck Week is a reminder that transport is about more than freight.
It is about people and connection.

WHG is proud to support Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds and Boys to the Bush through Truckin’ Together, bringing together organisations committed to supporting people across the transport and regional communities.
Through wellbeing initiatives, mentoring and positive community engagement, both organisations play an important role in creating stronger connections and support networks for people who need it most.
Technology Supporting the Future of Transport
As Australia’s freight task continues to grow, the transport industry will increasingly rely on connected technology to improve safety, efficiency and operational visibility.
WHG continues investing in technologies designed to support operators across every stage of the transport journey, including:
With more than 35 years of experience and a growing international presence, WHG supports fleets ranging from owner-drivers and regional operators through to large enterprise transport networks.
But no matter how advanced technology becomes, WHG believes the industry’s greatest strength will always remain its people.

Truck Week 2026 is not just a celebration of trucks.
It is a recognition of the people, partnerships and communities that keep Australia moving every day.
WHG is proud to support the transport industry through technology, collaboration and initiatives that strengthen safety, wellbeing and long-term industry sustainability.
